"It is good to praise the Lord and make music in your Name, O Most High." - Psalm 92:1
The subject of music in Scripture most often describes offering praise to God through singing or playing instruments. The role of music at Word of Life Church directs its primary purpose to the same end--to honor and glorify our Lord God.
The entire congregation can give expression of faith through singing during the worship service. Both hymns and praise and worship music are sung with the support of accompanists and instrumentalists.
Musical opportunities for ministry involve those who wish to lead in worship through their participation in solo or ensemble singing, instrumental playing, or praise and worship team.
The choir is at the center of the music ministry at Word of Life. It leads the congregation in worship and sings both standard and contemporary choral literature.
The choir also presents a Christmas concert to which the community is invited. Participation in the choir is welcome from interested adults and youth.
Rehearsals for the Christmas concert begin in October on Sunday evenings.
This group is an extension of the choir ministry and sings at special occasions throughout the year.
Anyone in the congregation can sing in the chorus. Brief rehearsals are held upon announcement before an opportunity for ministry.
Occasionally during the worship service, the voices of young children lift our hearts as they sing. Children also participate in special concerts including the Sunday School Christmas program and the children's summer musical.
