As Pastor J goes on Sabbatical to learn about rest, he shares about God’s rest. Sabbath Rest is not like your mom sending you to your room. Jesus teaches us that rest isn’t a punishment, God’s rest is for you. Jesus heals on the Sabbath to show us God’s abundant love for us. You are loved!

Every Easter we have the opportunity to look in the empty tomb through the eyes of his closest friends. The stone is rolled away, we hear the Angels question why they are looking for the living one among the dead. We run with Peter & John to the tomb, we run inside and look around. If we stay with Mary, we might hear Jesus say our name like he said Mary’s name. Do we believe that Jesus, the Son of God is alive?

Jesus gave his life for us. Tonight we gather to confess our faith in Jesus and thank Him for taking our sins and dying in our place so we may be forgiven. We remember His sacrifice for us, we nail our sins to the cross and praise our crucified Savior.

The crowds heard Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, they came out to see Jesus and Lazarus, and praise broke out! but the leaders want to kill both Jesus and Lazarus. So we get caught up in the celebration but there is a dark undertone to the parade. We know what’s coming.
